Chennai:

Likewise, this Deepavali weekend, it foresees a 40% higher rate of ticket bookings, says Karthikeyan Easwaramoorthy, CEO of TicketGoose.com.
Giving us an idea of the busiest routes on their platform, Karthikeyan said, “In the transportation business, almost all routes enjoy a healthy number of passengers. The routes where we usually experience an enhanced demand for tickets include Chennai to Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirunelveli (Nellai), Bengaluru and Coimbatore to Bengaluru. In the current financial year as on date, we have sold 40% higher tickets across routes.”
However, he reminds us that bus operators are solely responsible to set the base fare for all the routes covered by them. “As aggregators, we can only offer fare discounts and promotions to garner better ticket sales based on the base fare for the respective routes. We do not have any control over the ticket pricing,” he says. On the business end, TicketGoose.com currently has 4,356 bus operators associated with the portal and has the patronage of around 10 mn users and 2,052 agents.
The year has been one filled with milestones for the portal as well. Karthikeyan reveals, “In the last financial year, our turnover was Rs 50 cr. This year we are expecting a turnover of Rs 75 cr. Recently in June this year, we crossed 1 crore bus ticket bookings. We are also adding flight tickets to our portfolio and will roll it out for customers by the year-end. We are adding a tourism vertical and focusing on spiritual tours, honeymoon packages and family holidays. We are also bringing tour operators, bus fleet owners, hoteliers and car rental services under one ecosystem through our app.”
